It's Summer and our Greek wine flight is here!!
We start with Areti, a classic expression of the Assyrtiko grape grown in Macedonia. Fresh citrusy nose, delicately spicy with mineral freshness, lemon and pear fruit. This wine is very light and refreshing on a hot Summer’s day! Next try the same grape in a very different style. - Nykteri. In Greek, the name means “working the night away” as it is traditionally harvested at night to avoid the hot temperatures. After vinification Nykteri wines must be aged in oak for a minimum of three months but ours is aged for six. This fuller bodied white wine is slightly toasty, nutty and has apricot, grapefruit and floral notes. Then finish your flight with our red wine, Valos. In Greek, Valos means red light, and it is certainly a beautiful wine. Made with the Xinomavro grape which is sometimes referred to as “The Barolo of Greece” because it can taste strikingly similar to Nebbiolo. Valos is made from grapes grown on Mount Olympus and has notes of sour cherry, red plumb, and a hint of balsamic.
